Foundation Design
Here is a copy of last week's H.W:

Reproduction of Artwork

Designer: Jbomers Design
How was it constructed: The sofa resembles a fallen leaf, sitting gracefully above the earth. The ‘veins’ of the design are exposed deliberately, to accentuate the form of the leaf. The wire-frame is surrounded with leather-clad cushioning.
When was it constructed/ publicly announced: August 20th 2012.
Where was it constructed: Information not given. However, being that Jbomers Design is a Dutch company, then there’s a possibility that the design came from a Dutch county.
The fallen leaf sofa captured my full attention because the idea of a sofa being in the shape of a leaf is so new and modernized in terms of design. The fallen leaf shows a since of unity because the various shapes and patterns stitched into the sofa is effortlessly linked together like an intrinsic puzzle. It also depicts proximity in a way where it’s easy to see that the shapes are closely stitched together, side by side.
Also, repetition can also be shown within the leaf sofa because there’s a pattern of the little shape and blue stitching, and big shape and blue stitching and the color purple can be considered an example of repetition as well. The continuation of the shapes allows a nice balance between the textures, (and not just in terms of color but in touch). Although it may not be easily detected within the picture, the sofa displays a grid as well. There are sets of horizontal and vertical lines ranging into one another, however in a slanted form.
